Meet Executive Chef, David Daniels
Boston Harbor Hotel’s Innovative Culinary Leader
Born and raised in Boston by a large Italian family, David Daniels discovered his unorthodox dream to become a chef from the young age of thirteen. This oceanside city blossomed Daniels’ love and appreciation for seafood and encouraged him to set sail on his culinary journey.
“The ocean is my place. I have lived on both coasts – from Boston to San Francisco– it has always been my home and what I surround myself with. It is both my inspiration, and my comfort.”
In 1986 Daniels traveled across the United States to learn the ropes from the masters – including Acqua in San Francisco, Ventana Country Inn in Big Sur, and Pinot Blanc in St. Helena. After decades of exploration, the tide drew Chef Daniels back to New England where he re-connected with his roots and led many successful culinary initiatives.
“I live from the inspiration of today and tomorrow, while paying homage to my roots.”
Eventually, the waterfront at Rowes Wharf called his name, making Daniels the new captain of Boston Harbor Hotel’s culinary crew. The Executive Chef now brings a world of knowledge to our kitchen and passion to every plate.
“My food reflects 30+ years of seeing everything I have seen, including those I’ve met and cultures I have been fortunate enough to experience; That’s all reflected within our menus. From growing up Italian, to discovering Thailand, and living in Nantucket, each experience generates another file within my mind – resulting in a creative influence on what I produce. The creativity that I generate from the ocean is where I lend my passion – seafood has always come natural throughout the various chapters of my life, and becomes stronger with time spent in coastal destinations.”
Since dropping his anchor at Boston Harbor, Daniels has elevated our menus with incredible dishes from Ahi Tuna Flatbread to King Crab Mac and Cheese. His mouthwatering creations walk the line between comfort food and fine dining, always with the freshest thinking and ingredients. As we sail off into this new chapter, there’s no doubt that Executive Chef David Daniels will continue to make waves at Boston Harbor.
